Real Fired Clay. No Compromises.

Acme Brick products are made from natural clay and shale — materials that return to the earth at end of life. Our kilns run increasingly on natural gas with waste-heat recovery systems, reducing energy per unit fired year-on-year since 2010.

LEED Qualified Materials

Locally extracted and manufactured within regional radius for LEED credit eligibility.

Face brick is a full-thickness structural unit (typically 3 5/8" deep) used in cavity wall and solid masonry construction. Thin brick veneer is a 3/4" slice of genuine fired clay, designed to be adhered to a substrate — giving the authentic look and texture of brick without the structural mass. Both products are made from the same fired clay and share the same color range.

Yes. Acme Brick products can contribute to LEED credits under the Materials & Resources category (Regional Materials) because our clay is extracted and products are manufactured within the United States — often within 500 miles of the project site in the South and Midwest. Our technical team can provide regional sourcing letters for LEED documentation.

Mortar color dramatically affects the final appearance of a brick wall — more than most homeowners expect. Light mortar joints (cream, buff) will lighten the overall facade and widen the visual impression of each brick. Dark mortar (charcoal, slate) creates stronger contrast and a more contemporary feel. We recommend requesting both a brick sample and a mortar chip to evaluate them together in natural light at the project site.

Yes. With 20+ manufacturing plants and 50+ distribution locations across the South and Midwest, we offer efficient job-site delivery for most areas in our coverage region. Delivery lead times vary by product and volume — contact your nearest Acme location for current availability and scheduling. Large commercial orders may qualify for dedicated delivery coordination.

We can often help. Bring a sample brick or a clear photo to your nearest Acme showroom, and our team will work through the color catalog to find the closest match. While exact historical replication is not always possible (clay deposits and firing conditions change over decades), we maintain a number of traditionally styled colors — including distressed, antique, and "used brick" finishes — that work well for restoration and addition projects.
